These are photos of projects my Mom has made or is making with affie yarn for the Afghan Hound Club Of America's Yarn For Rescue Project:

Socks

Turkish Mittens Top Side

Turkish Mittens Palm Side

The socks were knitted using size 2 double pointed needles and the sand colored affie/merino blend yarn. The yarn has a wonderful spring to it, and is incredibly soft and luxurious.

The mittens were knitted, also using size 2 double pointed needles, with the sand colored affie/merino blend and the dark colored affie/alpaca blend. The stich pattern is a traditional Turkish design that is likely as ancient as the afghan breed itself.

The yarn is absolutely wonderful to work with, knits up beautifully, and the most terrific part is that all proceeds go to help afghan hounds in Rescue.

To learn more about this fantastic project, or how to purchase affie yarn and/or items created with affie yarn, please visit the Yarn For Rescue Project.

With Heartfelt Appreciation

We will always be grateful for the dedication, patience, and love shown to Pirin by Laura, Dan, Judy, and all the folks in the Houston Afghan Club's Rescue Program, who in giving of themselves have given us the most wonderful gift of a lifetime.
